The Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre (EMHC) built by Galliford Try’s Building Southern business has been shortlisted for this year's Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) awards in the London and South East region.

The £12.2m EMHC facility has been shortlisted in the 'Commercial Benefit' category that recognises projects that provide exceptional contributions to enhancing the local community.

Developed on behalf of gbpartnerships and in partnership with Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT), the new centre designed by LSI Architects to be sustainable and in keeping with the local environment integrates community spaces and facilities, centralising health services and improving accessibility for all.

The centre features a GP practice, outpatient services, a minor injury unit, x-ray services, phlebotomy, therapies, and social prescribing, as well as a memorial garden area for conservation, and an emphasis on health, wellbeing and lifestyle services.

The EMHC project was also recently awarded the Silver award at the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Awards.

Gavin Bridge, Managing Director for Building Southern, commented: “We are delighted that the Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre has been shortlisted for the RICS award, which is a befitting achievement for a project set to deliver vital health care services for the residents of Kent. I wish the team the best success at the awards ceremony in June.”
